I’ve been out of town since Thursday, but just had a chance to look at Dawson’s donation status and he’s at $295, so close enough. Thanks, big time to Joan Samara, Cynthia Adams, Martin Howard, Laura Ritchie, Cat Martindale, Holli Howard, Barbara Grabell and Cynthia Datoni.
We’ll get new pics and get an update when I get back into town on Monday.
Below is a photo of the x-ray showing the three bladderstones.

As of yesterday, all of the Spuds’ babies have started to open their eyes. Bud is turning out to be quite the toot. He is very vocal when he has to potty and his momma doesn’t seem to get to upset about it. He screams and cries and whines. After waiting a few minutes for MacKenzie to take over, I finally push him into her face. You can almost see the sigh of relief on his big ole face and then he falls asleep right away . MacKenzie is very protective of her babies however she certainly exhibits a lot of inexperienced mom behavior. She would almost rather not be in the kennel with them opting for roaming around the house instead (I think she is ADD). Little Tater Tot’s belly is so cute (she is the little black one with all the white markings). Idaho and Russet look so much alike that I have painted red nail polish on Russet’s head to tell them apart. All except Idaho have a minor upper respiratory infection and none of them like the medication. They spit it out or it comes out in bubbles and they all shake their heads back and forth as if the taste were not to their liking. This Sunday (3/11/07) they will be 2 weeks old and each one of them has more than doubled their weight. They are little pigs when it comes to eating and not very tolerant if not fed when they think it is time.
Check them out…

Dawson’s fund is still way, way low. He has one donation, so far, thanks Joan Samara, but still needs a lot to pay his bill. He’s a cutie little guy – look at his face below!

This little guy has had a lot of happenings. On his way to his NEW FOREVER HOME, he had a tummy ache so stopped off at the vet for a quick exam – not good – three bladderstones causing pain and irritation, so into surgery he went first thing this morning.
His vet bill was $383, we had to do it before getting the funds, but he’s hoping we can raise the money before the vet bills him. LOL We just could not let him continue in pain.
Please donate for this cutie HERE if you need to use a credit card or paypal account or if you’d like to send cutie Dawson a check, go HERE.

This adorable sweetie sat at the local shelter for three days with an eye totally RUPTURED! We picked him up on Saturday and was horrified by the nasty, smelly WOUND where an eye used to be. Our vet fondly calls him “Popeye.” LOL
His eye was immediately removed after we got him stablized – his vet bill was just over $100 – yes the vet felt so badly for him, she just DID IT immediately. Pictures coming tonight or tomorrow.
PLEASE help him with his vet bill – please donate with a credit card via paypal HERE or send Wensley a check HERE.

Ok, surely you remember THIS ONE. Yep, that’s right, this was one of the two most broken little dogs we’ve ever had. Well, he’s pretty much mended now and oh, so cute.

From her foster mom:
MacKenzie is a nervous and frantic mom. She pants a lot and just can’t get herself settled down into a routine. She will sit with her babies for a time and then be up moving around in the kennel. I let her out and she is so obsessed with her babies that she wants back in the kennel. Then she wants out again. Still racing like the Indy 500 to get back to her babies. After giving MacKenzie a few drops of Rescue Remedy, I sat with her on the floor this morning just gently holding her and petting her (yes, amongst the wiggles). I then put her back in the kennel with her babies and put her babies up to her belly. I sat there for about 10 minutes again gently patting her and talking to her. That seemed to quiet the nerves in her for about 15-20 minutes but by the time I left for work, they were back in full force. I plan to search the internet and ask a few professionals what I can further do to help this new, very nervous, mommy. The good new is that all of the Spuds family slept in the master bedroom last night and once everyone fell asleep, it was total quiet for the entire nite.
I can tell who Bud is, of course. And Tater Tot because of her white facial markings. But Idaho and Russet look so much alike to me and they are about the same size. I am going to have put neck bands on them with their names to tell them apart.
They certainly are a good looking family, aren’t they?
