Though we don’t know the exact cause of Braysia’s episode of late, we do know she is feeling better and will be released from the hospital today. Once the results of the blood work come back in the next few days, we can hopefully prevent this from ever happening again. Braysia and her foster mom truly appreciate you coming to her rescue.
Now she can resume her position on her favorite bed with her favorite bunny toy and just wait for the perfect home to come along.
Thank you for those who have donated:

Braysia’s foster mom, Carmen, went to visit little Braysia this afternoon. Here is her report
I just got back from visiting Braysia and the vet tech said she is doing a little better. Her diarrhea has slowed down and she seems more alert. Braysia almost ate something for me, but she decided she didn’t like the food and spit it back in her water dish.
Braysia was happy to see me; she jumped up and came towards the front of the gage when she saw me. She is still on fluids and they are hoping her diarrhea will stop soon.
She also was reminded by the vet tech that the estimate they gave us last night DID NOT INCLUDE OUR 20% DISCOUNT. So the number we are shooting for is only $1,226. We always shoot for their upper estimate. If more funds than needed are donated, it is applied to another needy dog.

Braysia’s foster mom, Carmen, called the hospital this morning to check on Braysia. Here is her report
Braysia is resting comfortably. She broke out with a runny diarrhea at 12am. The diarrhea seeps out of her while she is sleeping. The vet tech took her for a potty break at 5am and she did good. She still won’t eat anything.

Ok, I just sat down to give you the good news about Chantilly and got an urgent phone call from the foster mom of our Braysia.
This is adorable Braysia.

She had just arrived home from work and found Braysia in severe distress. Braysia has not eaten in 36 hours and started throwing up last night around midnight. She threw up three times and her foster mom planned on taking her to the vet tomorrow if there was no improvement. But, when she got home tonight and saw Braysia in severe abdominal pain, not even interested in drinking water, the foster mom rushed her to the same clinic that Chantilly was at just last night. They have no idea what is wrong with her, but need to do some diagnostics since this is the second time in a few months that she has had these symptoms.
They estimate that for her stay in ICU plus a Super Chem blood workup, and a test for pancreatitis, an urinalysis, abdominal x-rays and IV fluids (she is very, very dehydrated), the bill for tonight could be $1,100-$1,532. This amount includes around $685 of tests that we would do at our vet anyway and they are just slightly more expensive here. There is a total of around $220 for meds and the IV fluids and the rest is the ICU hospitalization.
I don’t even know what to do here. When I was talking with the foster mom, I said “no way.” There is just no way we can ask for more right now. Now, we’ve asked for so much from you all lately but since we are advocates for these little dogs, I have to come with this case too. We MUST be able to treat this gorgeous little lhasa girl!!
So PLEASE HELP!!
Please help us help Braysia. This little girl has been through so much – she has been fighting severe allergies for a year and just recently has WON the battle. That and finally, there is someone interested in adopting her. Please help us help her.

They say problems come in threes – I certainly hope not!!
Thanks to the great care from all the staff at VCA Metroplex Animal Hospital, Chantilly is back at her foster home. She’s on oral antibiotics, which she is taking without much fuss. Still with a little cough. Discharge from nose is mostly clear.
She is eating very well, too!
She went straight to the back door for elimination rounds, and seems to be about to catch on to using the pet door. While she was sprawled out on the grass, she heard activity across the street, & actually started to woof at things. At present, she is pretty much ignoring my furkids, & they are only moderately interested in her. Jazzy is still not impressed, & quite indignant about Chantilly’s presence.
Thank you all for allowing us to save the life of this little girl!
Looks a little better, don’t you think?
How’s this for “strike a pose?”
Today’s update on Chantilly:
She is alert & responsive; stable on O2. She ate some dinner last nite, but did not eat breakfast this
morning. If she still is not eating by later today, they will start IVF on her.
Hopefully she will be able to be stable on room air by the morning.
We’re keeping fingers, toes and paws crossed that this sweetie pulls through!!
Thanks big time to all of you. We are close enough in Chantilly’s fund to pay her ER bill and the ICU bill for three days. You guys are so great. The donations keep coming in and I know little Chantilly will be so appreciative when she’s out of the hospital and safe back in her foster home. I know WE appreciate it.
As of 6:00 this morning, her fund was at $1,975. Still a tiny bit to raise to cover the $730 ER bill and the $1600 for three days in ICU, but so very close!
Huge thanks to the following for getting her fund where it is right now!!

I can’t tell you how much I appreciate all of you. When I first got the call that she was in distress, I thought “never going to happen.” I was totally stressed about Cherie (who is back in the hospital, by the way. She stopped eating over the weekend), and just thought I would not be able to focus on little Chantilly. Thankfully, you all are making it easy to help her! We appreciate, so much, each and every one of you.
We got an update on Chantilly from the VCA hospital around 3:30 today. They reported her heart rate, temperature, respiratory levels were all good and she ate really well at 10am this morning. She had to have her IV replaced as she messed with it a bit. She seems alert, keeps her head up and looks around in between naps. Her cough is less frequent, so all sounds to be on the up side for her.
As of 6 pm, her fund is at $1850 and she needs another $480 just to carry her through the next two days in ICU. PLEASE help us keep this little girl in this very excellent hospital.
Please keep Chantilly in your thoughts and prayers. We need to save this young cuddle bug so she can bring joy for years to come. This is an urgent situation, so if you can donate for her emergency fund, please donate HERE via paypal or go HERE to send a check(specify Chantilly Worth)!

We transferred Chantilly to a rescue friendly hospital in the wee hours. Though it is still expensive, your donated dollars will go a lot further. We just could not afford $1800 for ONE night in the critical care hospital. In addition to the $730 dollars to get her out of ER, we will still need $1600 to let her ride this out for the next 3 days. Please allow us to help this darling little girl. You can tell by her photo, she is not feeling so good, yet she is a good patient and still gives you feedback with the scratch of her head. She just lays her little head in your hand to let you know how much she appreciates the love and care being provided.
She is now at the same clinic that helped Charo just a few short months ago.
