Special Needs Means a Special Dog

Posted in Kula Parks at 7:51 am by Lone Star Shih Tzu and Lhasa Apso Rescue

Kula was deemed a special needs dog because he came to us with rear leg that didn’t work correctly.  He was the victim of neglect and after being hit by a car, his prior family deprived him of medical treatment and his ankle and other broken bones healed “as is.”  You remember HIS STORY RIGHT??

You better believe that none of this ever stopped Kula and he finally found a family who loved him for his disability.  Kula also has a new brother, Guinness.

Here is his foster mom’s recap:

Kula Parks thought he was never going to get himself a forever mommy and daddy because he is physically challenged (hit by a car which resulted in two broken hips) and is probably looking at surgery in the future to fuse his ankle in place.  I am proud to say that Kula now has himself a family which is very important to a Lhasa as they are all about companionship.  His forever family includes mom Joy, dad Mark, and little brother Guinness.  (Kula is the white dog in the family photo.)  His mom and dad are very good about Kula’s physical therapy which involves walking daily.  These walks are one of the highlights of Kula’s day.  He has gotten to know his little brother well enough that they now walk side by side as if it were always meant to be.  Kula is a very lucky boy to have found such an unconditionally loving family.  I know he will thrive in his new environment.  Foster Mom Ja.”
