Kula update
Spoke with our vet this morning, Kula is stable but chewing on his foot. The news, could be good, could be not so good, is that his leg is NOT broken, but his pelvis is.
Our vet is sending the x-rays over to Dallas Veterinary Specialists, who have worked on several of our little broken kids. He expects to hear back from them early Monday morning with a plan for Kula.
It is possible that he will recover with just a lot of cage rest, or he may need orthopedic surgery. We will let you all know as soon as we do.
So far, all we’ve incurred for him is related to a ton of x-rays, antibiotics, etc. Thanks so far to Cat Martindale and Martin Howard for getting his fund started.
On another note, animal control may be filing cruelty charges against Kula’s prior owners - he was totally neglected and we have been told that he was hit by a car over two weeks ago and never taken to a vet. Why do people like this even get pets?
