Shortly after I joined Lone Star Shih Tzu and Lhasa Apso Rescue, I got an email from a friend of mine that had moved away to north Texas. When she found out I was a volunteer with LSSTLAR, she asked me if I knew Mr B. I told her I did know of him and she told me his story. She had a friend diagnosed with cancer and was too sick to continue to care of her little dog, Mr B. The little dog was getting older and blind and she knew if they took him to a shelter, he would probably be put to sleep immediately. She was so worried about her pet and what would happen to him during her long treatment. Our mutual friend contacted our rescue organization to see if we would take him. Of course, we did. I was able to report back to them that Mr B has a great foster home and is still doing well. It is so rewarding being a part of a rescue group so devoted to helping little senior dogs like Mr B.
