MIJA-I’VE CROSSED THE RAINBOW BRIDGE

My name is Mija (Me-ha) and I am a 10 year old Shih Tzu/Bichon mix senior lady. My name means beloved little girl in Spanish and that is just perfect for me as my foster parents tell me that’s what I am all the time. I am now a forever foster and I have two wonderful foster parents to take care of me. I was turned in by my owner in November 2009 because I became ill. In July I weighed 12 pounds and now I am 7 pounds. It turns out that I have both hepatits and Cushings Syndrome. My liver is failing and I really don’t have much longer to live. I am just so very grateful to be where I am at this point in my life.
You can see by my picture that I am wearing a little dress. Since I am so tiny and have no body fat, even in sunny Arizona I am cold. My foster mom puts sweatshirts and t-shirts on me and I still shiver from the cold. My foster mom has a blanket in every room just waiting for me so she can cover me to keep me warm.
I love my foster parents so much, but my foster mom is the center of my universe. I love her and just want to be with her every moment. I will jump into her lap the minute she sits down. Both my Mom and Dad love me and they tell me they are lucky that I am with them. I feel that I’m the lucky one as they are making my last days the best days of my life. Thanks Mom and Dad and to Lone Star Shih Tzu Rescue for taking me in and caring for me.
