BELVA

My name is Belva and I am a Forever Foster.  I am a white and silver, 13 year old Shih Tzu lady.  I am blind, but that does not hinder me at all.  I can hear quite well and I know my foster mom’s voice and will follow her all over the house and yard while she is talking to me.

My foster mom says that I am a curious girl and also quite brave.  You see, I tend to live my life to the fullest.  I do most everything that my foster brothers and sisters do.  Even though I am blind I am very aware of my surroundings.  In fact, I know exactly where my foster siblings are at all times and I use them to help me figure out what is going on around me.  I don’t necessarily want to play with them, but I am certainly aware of where they are and what they are doing.  I might miss something important if I don’t pay attention to what is going on!!

I am a very sweet and loving gal and my foster mom says that I am full of personality plus!!  I particularly like to go on walks with my foster family and I LOVE to be at the head of the pack leading the way!  I am also really good in the car, when I get a bath, and when I am getting groomed.  I’m still quite playful and will even play ball with you if I get the chance.

I also like quiet time and love to be close to my foster family.  I particularly like when they give me lots of attention and I am able to get a cuddle and a pet from them.  I am just a very loving and sweet little lady.

Even though I am considered a Forever Foster, I am up for adoption.  I would love to find my forever home with my own family to love and take care of me.  But, if that does not happen I know my foster family will always take care of me.  If you think you might be interested in learning more about me, please contact my foster mom at cparsonsang@hotmail.com .  You can also look at my Petfinder page and learn even more about me.

I am altered, up to date on all shots, heartworm negative and microchipped.

PINK - I’VE CROSSED THE RAINBOW BRIDGE

My name is Pink and I am a 7 year old Lhasa Apso girl.  I have beautiful soft white hair with tan markings, and I weigh about 21 pounds.   I am a little bit overweight, but I think those pounds would come off if I was on a regular exercise program.  My foster dad loves me and takes really good care of me, but because he is wheelchair bound, it is hard for him to walk me.
I was featured as the Fluff of the Week a number of months ago, but now I am a Forever Foster.  That means that I am still up for adoption, but because I do have some health problems my foster dad is willing to love me like his own and give me a home to live out my life in the comfort of my foster home if needed.   However, if you read this and think I might fit into your family, please feel free to contact my foster dad.  He’ll be happy to tell you all about me.
I have 8 foster siblings and I get along with them very well, except when there is food involved!!!  I love my food and tend to get protective of it by growling a little bit.  I don’t snap at my foster siblings, or hurt them, but I do growl!!  I have a deaf foster sibling and I know that she can’t hear my growl.  Even though I’m growling away, she just walks to my food bowl and helps herself!!!
I am now deaf from a seizure that I had a little while back.  I also have “lazy eye” that my ophthalmologist says was a result of a birth defect.   One of my eyes looks straight ahead and the other looks off to the side.  I am blind in that eye, but my eye that looks straight ahead is perfect.  My foster dad says that I can see a doggie treat in his hand from 100 yards away!
I am a very sweet girl, who loves attention, tummy rubs, and ear scratches.   I am not really a lap dog, but I do sleep in my foster dad’s bed, right beside him.   I follow my foster dad all over the house and I love it when he stops and gives me some attention.    I also will sit right next to him when he’s watching TV.   And when he comes home at night, I’m right there at the door waiting for him.  I LOVE to get attention.  You see, when I was rescued I had a little pink rhinestone collar on.  That meant that someone thought I was a little princess at one time.  My foster dad thinks that I still deserve to be treated like a princess.
I also like to ride in the car and when we go on walks, I don’t pull my leash or run and jump.     I am fully housebroken, know some commands, and everyone says that I am very well-behaved.  I think I am actually a perfect little lady!!
I would love to be your special girl and be your little princess, but I understand that I might spend the rest of my life with my foster dad.  That’s OK though, I love him and I know he will take care of me.
If you think you might be interested in learning more about me, please email us.  You can reach us at my personal email address pink@actioncentral.net.   I will make sure my foster dad gets the message.  Also please check out my Petfinder page for even more information about me.
I am altered, up-to-date on all my shots and am heartworm negative.

GOMEZ

My name is Gomez and I am a 10 year old grey and white Shih Tzu.  I had quite a traumatic past before I was lucky enough to be rescued by the volunteers at Lone Star.   Now I am living the “Life of Riley” with my foster family and I consider myself to be one fortunate lad.

About 4 years ago I arrived in foster care after I had been attacked by a pitbull.   My first foster family took care of me as I healed from that horrible adventure.  I must say that I am still a bit frightened of other dogs, but I am getting better around them.  Then I was adopted by a family who promised me my forever home.  Unfortunately, that did not work out as well as I had hoped.  I was returned to Lone Star.  Once I arrived back they discovered that I had a tumor on my liver the size of an orange.  I had that removed and now I am healthy and happy.  I am now in the Forever Foster program.  That’s OK though, I LOVE my foster family and I know they love me.   My foster mom calls me her little trooper because I have been through so much.

I am a pretty loving little guy and am quite content in my forever foster home.  I even have two doggie siblings to help me understand that dogs can be my friends!  I bark to let my foster mom know when I have to go outside. But, I can come inside through the doggie door.  I have a little arthritis so it’s harder for me to use the dog door going out than coming in.  I do have a little bit of a limp from the arthritis, but that doesn’t mean I don’t enjoy a walk in the park now and then!  I also have dry eye and need special eye drops daily for that.  I’m quite good when I get the drops, especially if Mom gives me a treat afterwards!

It would be wonderful if I could find my forever home with a special person to take care of me for the rest of my life.  But if that is not possible, I know my Forever Foster Family loves me and will take care of me.  I am truly one lucky little guy.  If you think you might be interested in me, please check out my Petfinder page and contact my foster mom or dad at jimtarl@sbcglobal.net
