REYNA - I CROSSED THE RAINBOW BRIDGE

Posted in Uncategorized at 11:08 pm by LSSTLAR

My name is Reyna and I am a Senior Citizen Lady of 12 years or so.  I am a very pretty blond and white Lhasa Apso who has been in the Forever Foster Program for about 2 years now.  I had been neglected for a very long time, until the wonderful Lone Star volunteers found me and started taking care of me.
This is what I looked like when I came to Lone Star.

My hair was short and I was not very clean.  I also had some bows in my ears that a groomer had put in a long time ago and were forgotten until my new foster mom took them out.  I was scared and wary as I had no idea what was happening to me.  Little did I know that coming to Lone Star was the BEST thing that ever happened to me.

Take a look at me now.

As you can see by my current picture, I am very pretty and obviously well taken care of and loved.
Let me tell you a little bit about myself.  I am a true little old lady who just wants a place to eat, sleep, and be lovingly cared for until it is my time to cross the Rainbow Bridge.  I sleep a lot as naps are good for seniors!  I never bark or beg for attention, but I do love it when I get to be the center of attention.  I am so grateful that I have a place to live and a wonderful foster family to take care of me.  I would love to find a forever home where someone would be willing to take care of me for the rest of my life, so that I can cross the bridge knowing that I brought someone joy and that I was loved.
I have some medical problems that make life a bit more difficult for me, but I will never complain.  I have Cushing’s Disease, a hypo-thyroid condition, and elevated calcium levels to name a few.  There are really no medical options for me as one fix will complicate another one of my problems.
My foster parents make sure that I am comfortable, warm, and loved.  They also need to know when my time to leave earth is near so that I do not have to suffer unnecessarily.  This may sound grave to some, but I know that it is the best thing my foster family can do for me.  You see, they are giving me time and love, and putting my needs above all emotions they might have.  That is truly a wonderful gift.
Please consider helping me and other others just like me by donating to our Forever Foster Program.

First, let me say that I wish I had tons of extra funds that I could support more of these little fluffs. Now, Reyna’s story as especially touched my heart as my darling Barkley who went to the bridge in 9/06 battled Cushing’s disease, among the numerous other medical problems he had, for about 8 years. I would like to provide some help with Reyna’s medical bills on a permanent basis. What would be the best way to do that?

    Thanks,
    Debbie
