My name is Xandie and I am one cute little girl! I am a 12 pound, 4 year old black and white Shih Tzu who has been through a lot in my short life. When I first got to Lone Star I was very fearful of everyone and everything. You see, I was abused in my first home and it has taken me a long time to learn to trust again. I am getting better and better each day and I so appreciate my foster family for helping me through this difficult time. I have now gotten to the point where I will let my foster mom pick me up for pets and loving. I learned that it’s a pretty nice thing to be in her lap getting lots of love!! Because of my history, it would be best if my forever home had children 16 years of age or older. Also, my new family will need to understand that it might take a bit for me to get comfortable with them. I promise though, it would be worth it! I deserve my very own forever home!
I would love to have another playful dog in the house to keep me company. I try to get my foster brother to play with me, but he wants nothing to do with me. I can’t understand that!!! My foster mom takes me on walks and I love that. And, I love to be with you when ever you take a car ride. That’s VERY much fun for me. I just want to be with you and be loved by you. I especially want to be close when there is a thunderstorm!!!
I am housetrained and know how to use the doggie door. You see, I’m just about the perfect little dog for your family. I would love to meet you and spend the rest of my life with you. Please contact my foster mom at luvmyflick@gmail.com . She will be happy to tell you all about me. Also, I have my very own Petfinder page that you can look at. Think about me when you are looking to adopt. I won’t disappoint you!!!

What a sweet little older lady I am!! My name is Paddy Paws and I will be 10 years young on December 1, 2009. I am a Shih Tzu and I would love to find my forever home to live out my senior years. My first family had to give me up because they were moving and could not take me with them. I am very grateful that the wonderful volunteers at Lone Star have taken me in. Now, I need to convince YOU that I would make the perfect addition to your family.
I am very sweet and cuddly and I love, love, love to be held just like a baby. That means that you can give me lots of belly rubs and I do love my belly rubbed!! I will stay for them as long as you are willing to pet me. I get along well with my foster brothers and sister and I especially love playing with one of them. I also enjoy the company of children as long as they respect my senior status. My favorite toys are soft and squeaky. I am also housebroken and I even know how to use a doggie door! My favorite spot to sleep would be in bed with you, but I also am content in my little bed at the side of your bed.
My foster mom calls me a chow hound. She learned pretty quickly that she needs to watch me at dinner time. I will chow down my bowl of food in no time flat, then, of course, I need to check out which one of my foster siblings has left anything in their bowl! I’m right there to gobble it up!!!
If you think I might be the perfect senior lady for you, please contact my foster mom at luvmyflick@gmail.com. She would be more than happy to tell you all about me. You can also check out my very own Petfinder page for even more information. It would make me so happy to find my forever home!!!

WOW!!! How did a Tibetan Terrier/Havanese mix end up in a Shih Tzu/Lhasa Apso Rescue? I’ll tell you how and am I ever glad that I am here!! My name is Magnolia. One of our volunteers was taking a leisurely walk when she saw me. I’m so glad she did, because I led her to where my FOUR PUPPIES were. She just knew when she saw me that I was a Momma dog and instead of picking just me up, she followed me so that she could help us all. I knew when I saw her that she was special. She took us to another volunteer with Lone Star to help raise us, and now we all have a new chance on life. We are looking for our forever homes.
Let me tell you a little about myself. I am about 2 years old and I am a very good girl. My foster mom said that I was a good mother to my four pups. There names are Apex, Fluke, Pockie, and Dot. There will be stories in this column about them soon. We all have Petfinder pages, so if you are interested in any of us, please check us out.
The volunteers at Lone Star aren’t exactly sure what kind of a dog I am, but their best guess is that I am a Tibetan Terrier/Havanese mix. I have a black and gray coat and I think I am a very pretty girl. I am also very sweet and loving to both humans and other dogs. I know that I would make you very happy.
Please consider adopting me so that I can have my very own forever home. You can contact my foster mom at adoptioninquiries@yahoogroups.com and you can also look at my Petfinder page. I promise that I won’t disappoint you.

Greetings! We are Charles and Brent and we would like to tell you a little about ourselves. We were both rescued from North Carolina and are two of the “Hairless NC Shih Tzus”. We had horrible skin problems, worms, and had lost all of our hair due to extreme neglect. We were also very shy and scared when we first came into foster care. We just did not know what was happening to us, but once we figured out that life can be wonderful and what loving care and good medical attention are, we started blossoming. We are now healthy and happy and we are even starting to grow hair!!! We now need to find our forever homes.

Charles
I am a 6-7 year old Shih Tzu boy and I weigh about 10 pounds or so. I now have hair and that is SO COOL!!!
I was very shy when I first came into foster care, but now I am one social little lad. I am very sweet and loving once I get to know you and my foster mom says that I am a charmer. I love to get you to pet me and pay attention to me. It’s fun to be loved!!! I also love my foster brothers and sisters and will play with them.
Think about adopting me. Check out my Petfinder page and please contact my foster mom at Adoptioninquiries@yahoogroups.com She knows that I deserve to find my forever home. I sure hope that’s with you!!!

Brent
My name is Brent and I am about 5-6 years old and I weigh 11 pounds. I don’t have very much air – except on my legs!!! My foster mom says that I have that “cowboy” look as it appears that I am wearing chaps! I think it looks pretty darn cool and I am quite happy that my hair is starting to grow back (even if it is just on my legs).
I was VERY shy when I first came to Lone Star, but I, like Charles, have developed into a sweet and loving companion. Please consider me as part of your family. I would love to find my forever home.
Please look at my Petfinder page and contact my foster mom at Adoptioninquiries@yahoogroups.com You won’t be disappointed if you do!!

My name is Picasso and I am a 4-5 year old Lhas Apso lad. I have a beautiful brown and white coat and am pretty handsome if I must say so myself! I found my way to Lone Star and my foster home after I was taken to the SPCA due to an eye injury. I had to have my eye removed, but I’m OK with that. I do very well and you would never know that I have this problem.
I am a little wary of strangers and just need to get to know you a bit and then I’m fine. My foster mom says that I am a little temperamental. For example, I like to know when you might want to pick me up. If you startle me I might have some “Lhasatude”. But, if you are calm and gentle with me, I’m pretty much OK. Because of this, it would be better if I were in a forever home that did not have young children. I prefer the quiet life and tend to watch what’s going on from afar.
I think that I am getting better and better each day. I know that if I had my very own forever home and my very own family I would become even better. I just need someone to give me a chance. If you are interested, please contact my foster mom at adoptioninquities@yahoogroups.com. She will tell you that I am definitely worth it. Also, please look at my Petfinder page.

Woof Woof!! My name is Cheddar and I am one sweet little Lhasa Apso boy. My coat is a beautiful golden color – just like Cheddar Cheese!!! I am two years old and a very, very happy and lucky lad. When I came into foster care, I had a damaged right eye that had not been taken care of by my previous family. The wonderful Lone Star volunteers took me to the Veterinarian and I started treatment. Unfortunately, we found out that my eye was so badly damaged that it had to be removed. But, that’s OK by me! I can see just fine and it hasn’t stopped me one bit from enjoying life.
I am a very playful young dog and will play at every opportunity. I particularly like to play with my foster brothers and sisters, so I really would like a playful young dog in my forever family to keep me company. Not only am I playful, but I am also very sweet and lovable with my human friends. I think everyone is my friend and I just love to get attention, pets and tummy rubs.
I think I am just about the most perfect dog for your family. Please contact my foster mom at Adoptioninquiries@yahoogroups.com for more information about me. You can also read about me on my very own Petfinder page.

Hello!! My name is Princess Pei Pei and I am a 2-3 year old little girl. I am a Lhasa Apso mix and have a beautiful beige and white coat. I am a petite girl and consider myself to be a “Princess” so my name fits me very well. I was rescued from a local animal shelter and am now living with a wonderful foster family. I would definitely like to find my forever home though. Let me tell you a bit about myself. You can also read more about me on my Petfinder page too.
I am a lap dog and LOVE any lap I can spend lots of time on. Although I am mostly a “people” dog, I do like my foster brothers and sisters and will play with them. I prefer to “get-to-know” other dogs before I feel comfortable with them. It would be just fine with me if there were other dogs in my forever home, or if I were your ONLY Princess!! I am also good with children, so a family would be fine with me too.
I must admit that I am afraid of thunderstorms and I tend to shake a bit with each thunderclap. I am very well behaved and am housetrained. MY foster mom says that I am one great little girl. Mom laughs at me when I get excited and want attention. I sit on my back legs and bat my paws up and down! That usually gets me a treat!!!!
If you think I could fit into your family, please contact my foster mom at sherry352@sbcglobal.net. She will tell you what a special princess I am.

Greetings! My name is Tempe Turner and I am one sweet little Shih Tzu girl. I am 6 years old and I weigh about 15 pounds. I am looking for my forever home and hope that I find it very soon! I love my foster mom and dad, but I deserve my very own special place with my very own family to love. I live in Arizona right now and I love it! When it’s hot outside I know that it’s best to be inside in the air-conditioning!!
I am a cuddler and my foster parents say that I’m a bundle of joy. I LOVE to give kisses and get lots of pets. My foster mom and dad say that I am a very good girl. When I first meet you I am a bit shy, but once I get to know you, I guarantee that I will love you! I also enjoy the company of my foster brothers and sisters and enjoy playing with them. If my forever home had another dog in it, that would be just fine with me. No young children though as I prefer the company of adults.
I love to curl up on the couch or a comfy chair. I can keep an eye on things from there and when I see a lap that’s free, I’m there for some tummy rubs and loving. I am truly a happy girl.
If you think I could fit into your home, please contact my foster mom at azdoglover713@yahoo.com . I also have my very own Petfinder page where you can see more pictures of me. Please check me out – I’m definitely worth it!!

My name is Isis , but my foster family calls me Cissy. I am a very sweet 4 to 5 year old Shih Tzu girl. I came from a puppy mill where I recently had a litter of puppies. My puppies and I were rescued by Lone Star and we have been well taken care of and living the good life since then. My foster mom said that I was a wonderful mom to my puppies. Now that the puppies are on their own, I am ready to find my forever home just like them! My foster mom also says that I deserve to be pampered and treated like a princess. I KNOW I am ready for that!!!
I am a happy little girl and my tail wags all the time to prove it! I am also very sweet and loving and I particularly love to sit in anyone’s lap to get my share of pets and tummy rubs. I am basically a cuddle bug!!! Even though I was raised in a puppy mill, I am not even the least bit shy and that’s very unusual for a puppy mill dog! I basically love people and I am a very social young dog. I get along great with the other dogs that are in my foster home too. That makes me just about perfect – except for the fact I have yet to learn to walk on a leash. I hope to do that very soon so that I will be able to take long walks with my foster and hopefully my forever family.
I have a condition known as dry eye because of my life at the puppy mill. It is a mild case, but I still need to get eye drops daily. I am very good at taking the drops, especially if I am held like a little baby. Tummy rubs after the eye drops are GREAT too!!!
Because of my life in the puppy mill, I never learned to play with toys or other dogs. Now that I am in foster care I am discovering that toys are pretty cool! I am slowly learning how to play.
If you think I could fit into your life, please contact my foster mom at sherry352@sbcglobal.net. I also have a Petfinder page where you can learn even more about me. After my hard life in the puppy mill, I deserve to find my forever home. Could that be with you?

Hello out there! My formal name is Raziha, but I am affectionately called Razi by my foster family. I am a 7 month old, female Shih Tzu puppy. I weigh about 8 pounds now, but I think I will be about 10-12 pounds or so when I am fully grown. I feel very lucky to be at Lone Star. I was rescued from a puppy mill and now I have the possibility of a wonderful life in store for me. I just need to find my forever home and my very own family to love.
I am very playful, but also very sweet and loving. I love to give lots of puppy kisses! I need another playful young dog in my new home to keep me company as I love, love, love to play with my brother and sister. We particularly like to watch and chase the squirrels that are on our back fence. My foster mom says that I am just full of life, love, and fun!!!
I am doing particularly well with house training. I know how to use puppy pads inside the house if I can’t get out in time. I also am crate-trained and don’t mind being in there, but I still share my crate with one of my siblings. I know that there might be a bit of adjustment going to my forever home, but I promise to do my best!! After all I am a puppy and a smart one at that!! Mom says that I am one inquisitive litte girl!
If you think you might be interested in me, please check out my Petfinder page. Also, my foster mom would be more than happy to tell you all about me. You can contact her at sherry352@sbcglobal.net. I am altered, up to date on all shots and heartworm negative.
