Hello Again!  My name is Sienna and I am a Forever Foster.  And now I am also a featured Fluff of the Week!!  Wow I must be pretty special!  I am definitely a special senior lady, but also my foster mom can’t take care of me any more as she is going away for a number of weeks.  I REALLY need to find either a new foster home or be adopted by someone who understands my special needs and will look beyond those needs and see just me.  I had a very lonely life before I found my way to Lone Star Shih Tzu Rescue and now I know what it’s like to be loved and taken care of.  Please help me live the rest of my life to the fullest.

You can read all about me on my Forever Foster page (posting date 5/18/08), but let me tell you just a little bit about myself here.  I am 9-10 years old and I have beautiful champagne colored hair.  I have problems with hearing and I also don’t see very well.  I tend to startle if I don’t know you are around me.  However, if I know that you are close to me, I will beg you for loving and pets.  My favorite thing, besides food, is to be with my people.  I do sleep a lot, so when I am awake I want to be either eating or right by your side.  I am on some pills for arthritis and another to help my memory.  I also need medicine for my eyes every day and I am patient when mom puts these drops in.  My foster dad fed me my breakfast one morning and put my pill in a little bit of cheese in my dog bowl with the rest of my food. I gobbled up the pill and the cheese in no time flat, sniffed the food in my bowl, and walked away without eating my dog food. (Of course I left the dog food in the bowl as there was nothing interesting to eat in there that I could tell!)  I came back a few minutes later to see if anything had changed and it hadn’t so I left it again and walked away.  But the third time was a charm!  Dad had put some pumpkin in with my food.  I thought that was great and ate all my food and licked the bowl clean!  I just hope they put pumpkin in my food again soon!!Because I was left alone and neglected in my previous home, I now have to relearn many things and to be honest with you that has been very hard for me.   I am a bit confused about many things.  I am relearning housebreaking and my foster mom knows that when I get up from my nap I need to go outside right away.  I don’t bark at all, so my foster mom needs to see me at the back door to know that I need to go out.  I am getting better at this.  My foster mom takes me outside on a leash because if I stray a bit I might get myself into trouble, like falling into the pool!!  That would NOT be a good thing!  I know that all this relearning is going to be a long process, so that why I need someone very special and patient to take care of me.  I do promise that I will be as good as I possibly can! If you would like to learn more about me please contact my foster mom at wilma.f.winter@us.army.milI am altered, up-to-date on all my shots and am heartworm negative.
