CRICKET - I’VE BEEN ADOPTED!!!

My name is Cricket and I am the cutest, most precious Shih Tzu lady you will ever meet. I am about 9 years old, but I am a young nine. I don’t show my age at all and will run and play with my foster mom every chance I get. I particularly like to play fetch and when I see that my mom is getting the ball I get VERY excited!! In fact, I’m SO excited that I start running to catch the ball even before Mom throws it!!! She laughs at me when I do this, but I want to make certain I get that ball!! I also get along well with my foster brothers and sisters and will play with them at times. Cats are OK with me too.
I’m a little overweight and am on a diet to lose a couple of pounds. I am doing well with this and am starting to see a little weight loss. Since I’m such an active gal, all the exercise I get will burn those calories away!
I love chewy toys, particularly rawhide bones or ropes. I tend to REALLY chew them, so my foster mom makes sure that she gets me durable bones and toys so they last a bit longer. I sleep in my doggie bed right next to my parent’s bed. If one of my foster siblings gets up to go outside, I always get up with them to see what they are up to. I’m a bit of a light sleeper and I want to know what’s going on at all times. I do go back to sleep in my bed once all the excitement is over.
I have very good manners. I’m not a fussy eater and am very gentle when treats are given to me. I love to go on long walks and I do quite well on a leash. I don’t particularly like to be crated or restrained in my car seatbelt, but I know it’s for the best.
