TINSEL

My name is Tinsel and I am a female, 7 year old, very petite Lhasa Apso. I lived with a family for 7 years of my life. When they became too busy for me the wonderful folks from Lone Star rescued me. I was very confused and quite scared when I first arrived at my foster home as I had no idea why my life had turned upside down. I thought I was a good girl and I just couldn’t believe I was given up. But, that is behind me and I am ready for a new family to love.
Let me tell you a little bit about myself. I love my foster mom and always want to be with her. I prefer to be sitting right next to her when she is watching TV or reading, whether in bed or in her chair. I also learned that if I flop on my back I will get belly rubs. When my foster mom stops petting me I talk with her and gently take her hand in my mouth or I pat her with my paw to let her know I don’t want her to stop!! It took my foster mom a little while to figure out that when I talk (growl) that this is classic Lhasa Apso verbalization!! It doesn’t mean “Stop” but actually means “Please keep those belly rubs coming!”
I like my kennel and I feel very comfortable in there. When I first came to live with my foster mom and foster siblings I used to eat in my kennel. Now when I see Mom getting my food ready, I RUN straight to my kennel, but now I eat my meals right outside my kennel door. I am fully housebroken and have never had an accident in the house. I also have never soiled my kennel as I know that’s my little home. My foster mom took me to be groomed and I got a good report from the groomer who said I was very well-behaved. I also had my teeth cleaned at the vet and he said I am a very healthy girl.
I have started playing with toys and I usually carry one around the house with me. If I’m outside, I am VERY protective of my yard and I alert my foster mom to what is happening. Sometimes if a leaf falls I have to even tell her about that.
I like my foster dog brothers and sisters but I don’t play with them at all. I would REALLY prefer to be an only dog. I also think that I would do best in a home without children and where children don’t visit. Remember, I’m a Lhasa Apso and I have the typical personality of a Lhasa Queen!! I might be misconstrued as a snippy dog when actually I’m just being a Lhasa. I would be happiest in a home where my people understand and love the Lhasa Apso breed.
If you think I could fit into your home, please email my foster mom at lhasatzu4u@verizon.net. Also, please take a look at my Petfinder page for more information. I promise that I’ll be a good girl for you and love you forever!
I am altered, up-to-date on all my shots and am heartworm negative.
