My name is Little Guy and I am a 2 year old male Lhasa Apso. I was turned in by my owner with my two puppies because there was not room for us in the new apartment. My pups have been adopted and now I am waiting for my forever home.
Let me tell you a little bit about myself. I am very shy and a little afraid of new things, but I am getting lots better in my foster home as I am learning to trust. I don’t like men very much and kids are a bit rambunctious for me. My ideal forever home would be in a quiet home, preferably with a woman, who would be able to give me lots of love and attention and be patient with me as I learn new things.
My foster mom took me to the National Lhasa Specialty show and I did very well there. I helped represent Texas rescue Lhasas at the show. I even got to be in a parade with the other rescue dogs. I did quite well at the show and my foster mom was proud of me.
I really like my foster mom and the other dogs in my home. I don’t mind my leash, although I need a bit of leash training. I like to ride in a car, and I also go into my crate without a problem.
I like to show my affection by licking your legs and I would much rather give your hand a lick than be petted on my head. Sometimes I lick my foster mom so much she thinks she’s getting a bath from me, but it’s just my way of showing my affection. I don’t really play with the other foster dogs in the house, but I do LOVE my squeaky toys and will squeak them forever, much to my foster mom’s dismay!!!
If you think I could fit into your home, please check my PetFinder page and contact my foster mom. She says I am getting better and better each day and I just need someone to give me lots of love and attention. I am altered, up-to-date on all shots and heartworm negative.

My name is Kenya and I am the most playful 4 year old Lhasa Apso/Shih Tzu boy you will ever meet. I just LOVE to play, play, play. I weigh about 16 pounds and have soft black and white fur that has a slight curl to it. I have quite the prominent “under bite” and my little tongue often sticks out and rests on my lower teeth. I think that makes me look quite cute and endearing!
Not only do I love to play, I am also very sweet and loving to everybody. I am always excited to see my family and friends and I will give great big slurpy kisses to show my happiness. I love attention and if anyone else is getting attention I’m right there for my share!
I am currently working on manners such as house training and I have been doing quite well if I must say so myself! I am also learning basic obedience commands like ‘sit’. It is hard for me to understand the concept of ‘sit’ because it is just so hard for me to sit still! I like to play fetch, but I don’t always bring the toy back. Tug-a-war is one of my favorite games especially with some of the other fosters in my foster home. I love to wrestle with the other young foster dogs so I will need a play mate or someone who is willing to share a lot of time with me in my forever home. I would love to have a home with someone willing to give me daily walks.
I have had a bad run of luck with finding some stability in my life since coming to Lone Star. But now I am lucky to be in a foster home where I can stay until I am adopted. Also, my Petfinder listing has had problems and often when someone clicks on my listing to get my information, a message saying “Oops, this pet is not long available on Petfinder” comes up. If you get this message and want information on me, PLEASE let us know! I need to find my forever home!
I am a happy little dog that will bring a smile to your face. I’m full of life, love, and energy! If you think I could be a part of your family and would like more information on me, please go to my Petfinder Page and contact my foster mom. I am neutered, up-to-date on all shots, and heartworm negative.

Hi! My name is Chantelle and I am a Lhasa Apso mix. I would LOVE to find my forever home. I am three years old and have spent most of my life outside. I was abandoned by my previous family when our house burnt down. The volunteers at Lone Star rescued me and I am starting my new life. My picture doesn’t do me justice as I am a very cute 15 pounder with the most amazing underbite you have ever seen!! My favorite thing, besides getting cuddles from my foster mom, is TREATS! I’m really not particular, but I especially like the ones that look like little cookies.
I am just now learning how to trust. I really like people a lot, and some dogs under some circumstances. So that being said, I think my ideal forever home would be with me as the only dog. I also think my ideal home would have adults only and I would make an awesome companion. I need someone to give me attention, cuddles, and love, and I think that children might scare me a bit now. I would love to be your only child……oops, I mean only dog!
If you think I could fit into your family, please contact my foster mom. You can reach her by looking at my PetFinder page. I am altered, up-to-date on all my shots, and am heartworm negative.

My name is Ryson and I think I’m about 9 or 10 years old. Even though I may be a little older shih tzu, I feel and act like I am a younger dog. I’m a petite girl with pretty champagne and gray hair. I was found as a stray by a Good Samaritan. Luckily he brought me to Lone Star and my foster mom has been taking good care of me ever since.
When I first came to my foster home, my foster mom started to call me “Little Girl” or “Abigail”, which kind of sounds like little girl. I like those names a lot better than Ryson. Mom says that I am a great dog and a wonderful companion. I don’t play with toys very much, but I do like to sit on my foster mom’s lap and cuddle with her and get pets. I also really enjoy one of my foster mom’s cats. When he comes around and nudges me I stop whatever I’m doing to give him lots of licks. There are also other dogs and cats in our house, so I would be fine going to a forever home with other animals, preferably with other cats!! I think children would scare me a bit so I think I would like to find a home with adults, maybe a retired couple who could give me lots of attention.
One thing I don’t like is to hear thunder. I get quite frightened and quiver and shake a bit. I just need reassurance from my foster mom that all will be well and once the storm has passed all is well! Also, I’m a little shy when I first meet someone, but once I get to know you I’m fine.
I would love to find a forever home with a family who will give me lots of love and attention. Remember, I’m a shih tzu and we can live long lives. I would love to spend the next 6+ years as your companion. If you think I could be a part of your family and would like more information on me, please go to my Petfinder Page and contact my foster mom. I am spayed, up-to-date on all shots, and heartworm negative.
