That is a great post! We adopted an older tzu from LoneStar and he is the most on schedule of all of our pooches. We named him Sargie because he likes to bark orders {at us humans to let him in the dog door (when we are home and know the fence is secure we let the kiddos go in and out the dog door, but when we leave home we secure the door in case someone might open our fence making the yard not secure... I would die if something happened to our babies), he will let himself out , but he likes us to let him back in, and at his siblings when they are racing around playing because he wants to be involved but is not as fast as they are and usually he is telling them to slow down so he can keep up}. It is too cute! If you want true love and a great companion, a senior dog is a wonderful addition to your home. We have steps so he can get in and out of our tempurpedic bed all by himself, which he does often as he has us (and especially his dad) wrapped around his cute little paws. I highly recommend falling for a senior!

Caleb has been my foster for an entire year now. He has only had one inquiry in that time. I don't understand why so many people want only the young ones. Caleb is a great little guy and could make someone a wonderful companion. He has the cutest personality. Yes he is mostly deaf and he does require daily drops for his eyes but other than that, (well okay he needs more walks to lose a couple of pounds but you try walking 9 dogs twice a day) he is such a love. I have had people tell me they just can't bear the thought of losing a dog or not having one live 15 more years well there are no guarantee's no matter the age and if you can find it in your heart to put a little dog that needs a home where he can get more attention ahead of your feelings you should apply to adopt an older deserving dog. We have so many woderful older dogs in our program to chose from.
