Aggie – sweet elderly one-eyed shih tzu girl

Aggie came to us from Harris County Animal Control  She was horribly matted and both eyes were swollen and inflamed.  She also had numerous small tumors all over her body.  We kept her on antibiotics for several weeks and the swelling went down in one eye.     We were told by Gulf Coast Animal Eye Clinic that the muscles that hold the eye in it’s socket had been torn and her eye would never recover, so we opted to remove it and relieve the pain.  She recovered nicely, but with one eye, limited sight in the other eye and her age, we doubt that she’ll ever catch anyone’s fancy so will stay in a foster home for the rest of her life.

Aggie also needs around $100 a month, for her vet visits and meds while she is in our program.  She is looking for five people to subscribe to donate only $20 a month for her.  If you are interested in being one of her sponsors while she remains in our program, you can subscribe via paypal HERE or if you would rather send a check, you can do it HERE.

As of today, Aggie has 0 monthly sponsors.

I read about Aggie and it just touched my heart. We have two shihtzus and just love them dearly. Do you know if Aggie is good with children? Was she ever abused? Our shihtzus are 2 years old and we are looking to have children very soon so want to make sure she is good with children. Also, can she go far on walks? :-)
If you could also send information on donating as well.
Again, your story touched me dearly..she is just adorable..

Is Aggie up for adoption? I am looking for a special needs dog to adopt. My cat of 12 years recently passed away, and I would love to give a special needs dog a life-long home.
